The bearing unit for a worm drive conveyor is located suspended inside a trough. The bearing is in the form of one or more roller bearings, and on each side of the roller bearing there are several devices positioned axially one behind the other to prevent a direct contact between the roller bearing and the material being conveyed. As a protection for the roller bearing a combination of one each of a labyrinth seal, a lubricant chamber, a bearing seal and an ordinary seal are fitted. A lubricant chamber is connected to a number of bores.
