The device is for printing random symbol combinations on a strip of paper or plastics, arranged in longitudinal and transverse rows. The symbols are arranged on toothed belts (16,17) which have a number of type positions, the position on the one belt differing from those on the other. The belts run over a common toothed support roller (14) for synchronous drive, and over a co-rotating reverse wheel.
