The warm air unit comprises a combustion chamber (10) for gas or liquid fuel, an exhaust gas duct (15) and a burner (11). Air channels (13,16,19) conduct air along the combustion chamber and exhaust duct outer surfaces for heat exchange between gas and air. A fan (21) moves ambient air through the air channels, and an outlet (25) discharges warm air into the atmosphere. The lower part of the combustion chamber is surrounded by a cover (12) forming an upwardly open air channel (13) relative to the chamber. The exhaust gas channel (15) attached to the chamber top extends downwards along the cover to connect to a gas outlet (17) with limitation by a downwardly open air channel (16).
