A plaster mould is made which is a negative of the tool. Metal is then poured into the plaster mould to form the tool. The plaster mould is then removed, e.g. by washing away to form the mould cavity. Used for making an injection moulding tool cheaply. (Provisional Basic previously advised in Week K15).
