1. A roller apron for bridging expansion joints between a bridge structure and an adjoining structure or the like, the apron comprising : pivot plates pivoted to a joint edge and disposed one beside another transversely of the bridge, slide plates being articulated to the pivot plates ; and tongue plates which are pivoted to the opposite joint edge, are disposed one beside another and rest on the side plates, the slide plates bearing, by way of their lateral edges which extend transversely of the bridge and by way of resiliently mounted sliding elements, on a substantially arcuate track of bearing brackets, characterised in that each pivot plate (4) and one or more slide plates (5) adjacent thereto lengthwise of the bridge are interconnected by pivot bearings (15) disposed adjacent the slide elements (14) in an inwardly offset alignment extending transversely of the bridge ; and the pivot plates (4) and the slide plates (5) have on their edge extending towards the adjoining structure (2) slide elements (14) in the form of a sliding member (16) guided in a dished support member (17).
