ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSUREA computer-controlled oil drilling derrick ischaracterized by apparatus for determining the load supported bya travelling block during motion thereof from a first to secondposition within an oil drilling rig. The apparatus isoperative to output a signal functionally related to the netload on the travelling block. Further, the apparatus outputs anappropriately scaled signal functionally related to the load onthe travelling block when in a substantially static condition.
