RETAINING WALL WITH HEAT EXCHANGECHARACTERISTICS FOR THERMALREGENERATION EQUIPMENTABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSUREA refractory wall for a combustion chambercomprising a plurality of wall portions which includerefractory blocks having generally horizontal, front-to-backpassageways interspersed with a plurality of portions whichinclude unperforated refractory blocks. Outwardly of eachperforated block portion a heat-exchange section islocated with the perforated block portion serving to retainheat-exchange elements in that section and to resist theirconsiderable lateral thrust. At the same time the perforatedportions are integrated with the non-perforated portions toform a continuous circular wall of superior strength andresistance to elevated temperatures as well as to chemicalattack.
