ABSTRACTAn oily water separator which has a pluralityof parallel corrugated plates between which the oil/watermixture is constrained to flow, adjacent plates beingseparated by spacing forms smoothly shaped to providesubstantially laminar flow therepast in a directiongenerally transverse to the corrugations, each spacingform being positioned between two plates at a crestor at a trough in the corrugations and having aleading edge serving to divide the flow therepastat said crest or trough, which edge extendsgenerally tangentially to the said crest or troughof one of the respective plates.
