MICROWAVE SEED SENSORFOR FIELD SEED PLANTERAbstract of the DisclosureA seed planting apparatus comprises a mobile plantingmachine to be connected to a tractor or similar vehicle, andhaving a seed hopper for containing a supply of seeds to beplanted. A seed outlet on the hopper feeds a seed dispensingapparatus for delivering seeds to the ground to be planted.A microwave seed sensing apparatus is disposed in a path oftravel for seeds discharged from the hopper for detecting theseeds and producing an observable indication to the operatorof the presence of seeds in the path of travel. The seedplanting apparatus may also include magnetic seed treatmentapparatus. The microwave sensing apparatus may therefore beconnected in a control circuit for actuating the magneticfield in response to the presence of seeds and for producingan indication to an operator of the passage of seeds.
