MICROFICHE INFORMATION RETRIEVAL AND CONTROL SYSTEM UTILIZING MACHINE READABLE MICROFICHE AND VISUALLY READABLE MICROFICHE

ABSTRACTA parts management and inventory control systemincludes a microfiche data base of two types of micro-fiche cards. One type is machine readable only, whilethe other type card bears machine readable informationand visually readable information. The microfiche cardsbear digital information for machine reading. The digi-tal information includes information to be read as outputdata and/or information for controlling a microfichecard transport or a scanner transport in order to accu-rately position microfiche cards for information re-trieval. The system may interface with a central com-puter for parts ordering, cancellation and the like,and a printer provides a permanent business record.The system may also be employed in the field of financein order to provide credit or bank account informationwith complete privacy with respect to the identifica-tion of the person whose account is being checked.
