PURPOSE:To enhance the molten zinc erosion resistance of a cheap Fe alloy by adding C, Si, Mn, Nb, Mo and/or W, Ni, Co and Cr. CONSTITUTION:This Fe alloy has a compsn. consisting of, by weight, C 0.01-3%, Si 0.01-2%, Mn 0.01-2%, Nb 1-6%, Mo and/or W 1-10%, Ni 10-30%, Co 10-30%, Cr 10-25%, and the balance Fe and inevitable impurities. Because of its lower content of expensive Co this alloy is cheaper than Stellite 6. It has superior molten zinc erosion resistance and can be used in casting, working and build-up welding.
