The invention refers to a process for the production of track bushes for tractors and tracked vehicles in general, said bushes being carburized in semicontinuous furnaces, with preheating chamber and extraction chamber, in which the carburizing atmosphere is obtained directly in situ, and then individually submitted to direct quenching, followed by tempering of the ends and total stress-relieving.;The production cycle calls for tight control of temperatures and of treatment times as well as of the composition of the carburizing atmosphere; on the other hand it ensures a big saving in energy, shorter treatment times and consistently high product quality.
