METHOD OF MAKING PLASTIC-METAL COMPOSITE BY OUTSERT MOLDING TECHNIQUE

The base plate assembly comprises a metal base plate (1,2) with a synthetic thermoplastics material moulded thereon and bonded thereto by a plurality of bonding apertures (3,4) in the metal base. The synthetic plastics include features of configuration each located over one of the said bonding holes. The base plate avoids problems of shrinkage during moulding and can be prepared in a single moulding process by the outsert moulding process.
