Shuttleless loom incorporates an auxiliary weft picking fluid nozzle which is kept at a lowered stand-by position, clear of the bottom warp sheet, while shedding of the warps occurs, and for picking is moved vertically through the bottom warp sheet and into the shed weft guide channel. Pref. the auxiliary nozzle is reciprocated vertically by a pressure fluid piston, or by a cam mechanism operating in synchronism with rotation of the loop main shaft, and is slidably mounted on the loom slag. Pref. the piston is locked against rotation by a slot engaging a lengthwise rib on the piston cylinder.
