The mobile appliance for working on road verges has a motor-driven tool swivelling at the cantilevered end of a transversely swivelling, height-adjustable rocker. The tool (8) is detachably and replaceably located between the jaws (7) of the two-armed rocker (2). - Tools for replacement are designed so that the gear (9) for the tool concerned is cardanically hinged (11) to a splined shaft (12), insertable in a splined motor-linked (3) socket (13) serving as drive shaft.(1/4)
