Recording erasing and reproducing system - for visual and magnetically coded characters on common recording medium uses typewriter keyboard

A visual recording unit selectively records a number of visual characters on the recording medium. A number of coded signals and a number of bits are derived and the magnetic bits are recorded by the magnetic recording unit which responds to the coded signals. A number of binary coded signals and bits are derived by a unit (36, 39) and a magnetic recording unit (41) records a number of bipolar magnetic binary bits according to a visual character on a compounded recording medium. The visual and magnetic recording is such, that between each visual character and corresponding magnetic bit a clear relationship exists.
