The method of making a panel or door for an article of furniture, includes the use of paper marked with imitation wood grain as an overlay, so as to simulate a wood construction. The printed pattern (8) gives the effect of strips running down two sides and across top and bottom, with a rectangle in the centre. A cover film can be applied, and both mounted on backing sheets strengthened with a resin. The whole can then be applied to a standard built-up door (9) by adhesive. Finally, a frame (10) made of four wooden strips with corner bevel joints can be applied, covering the joint region between the central rectangle and the side strips.
