The sound cine projector is linked to a programmable control (1) with a digital read-out for te film length, or the indexing address for each scene change. The film is provided with markings for the scene changes and these are stored on the sound track. The markings are simple impulses derived from an impulse circuit in the programmable control. The system provides rapid retrieval of the scene points for editing without having to run through the film at low speeds under the projector lamp, which can damage the film.
