PURPOSE:To provide the title green filter glass having a sharp transmission peak only in the wavelength region of 540-545mmu by adding trace constituents for coloring and transmittance regulation to Nd2O3-contg. silicate glass. CONSTITUTION:This filter glass is obtd. by adding Cr2O3 0.1-1.5wt%, CuO 0- 0.5wt% and NiO 0-0.2wt% to 100wt% of matrix glass which contains, by wt., SiO2 4.0-70%, Nd2O3 15-30%, alkali metal oxides (R2O) 0-25% and divalent metal oxides (RO) such as MgO and CaO 0-46% (R2O+RO 10-50%) or further contains B2O3 0-25% and Al2O3 0-10%. Since relatively much Nd2O3 is introduced, this filter glass has a sharp transmission peak, and in spite of much Nd2O3, Cr2O3 is stably dissolved in the glass.
