In a heat-insulation and sound-proofing window, there are devices which allow room aeration and room deaeration, with recovery of heat from the waste air, by the timed method on the thermosiphon principle. For a more effective heat recovery, the horizontal soffit frame parts, which surround the two wings of a box-type window together with their fixed frames, accommodate slotted tubes which are rotatably mounted in foam bodies and which control the air movement between the box interior, the room side and the outside.
