Bath and process for the electrolytic aluminising of polytetrafluoroethylene components

The direct electrolytic aluminising of polytetrafluoroethylene components is carried out in a bath which contains a system of the general formula M[Al2(C2H5)6]X . n mol of aromatic hydrocarbon, where M is Na+, K+ or (NR4)+ and R = methyl or ethyl, X is fluoride or chloride and n is a number between 2 and 4, preferably at 80 to 100 DEG C and 2 to 20 volt. The bath is suitable especially for the direct coating of relatively small components with aluminium.
