Determining the phase-to-neutral voltage (phase voltage, star voltage, line-to-neutral voltage, Y-voltage) from the output voltages of a three-phase cycloconverter

In order to operate a cycloconverter which supplies three phases to a load without the star points (neutral points) being connected, is designed for only a portion of the maximum voltage amplitude of the load, and whose phase-to-neutral voltage can be modulated at three times the load frequency in order to produce the difference between the maximum voltage of the cycloconverter and the maximum voltage amplitude of the load, the reference variable for the unsmoothed phase-to-neutral voltage is obtained from the three load voltages, which are used as reference variables for controlling the cycloconverter, by predetermining the load voltage peaks which exceed the maximum voltage of the cycloconverter.
