The invention relates to a reconnaissance and fire-control system for accurate target detection and a target engagement both in the close field and in the far field, having an operating range which is located raised above the ground, reconnaissance platforms being allocated to a multiplicity of fire points, which reconnaissance platforms are in each case provided with a target observation apparatus and a navigation apparatus whose information is passed to transponders and is picked off there, by the fire points, via interrogation beams from a laser. The localised target scenery or the target coordinates are transmitted simultaneously and in a stabilised manner along with the spatial and position angular coordinates of the platform relative to the fire-control point.
