In the event of accidents in the chemical industry, an assistance unit is used for removing flowable hazardous materials of the most diverse types; this unit is transportable and preferably arranged on a vehicle (6, 7), consisting of a supporting substructure (3, 4) with a pressure vessel (12) of appropriate strength arranged on top thereof for taking up these materials, a suction line (15), an explosion-proofed vacuum pump (20) for suction, a gas-scrubbing tower (41) and a fixed-bed adsorption tower (50), which can be operated simultaneously or selectively, and, if appropriate, further equipment such as an inert gas device (71) and containers (9, 10, 11) for further auxiliaries carried along.
