Hinge with a fixed hinge part fastenable to the outside of the housing of a built-in refrigerator or freezer cabinet and with a movable hinge part connected to the fixed hinge part by means of a swivel joint, the mutually confronting end portions of the fixed hinge part (13) and of the movable hinge part (14) as well as the end portions of the swivel levers (18, 20) articulated on their ends being designed essentially as U-sections which are nested in one another as a result of an appropriate gradation of the width of their webs and which, during the closing of the hinge (10), are so inserted into one another with legs bearing against one another that, in the closed position, the pivot pins at the mutually confronting ends of the hinge parts overlap at least approximately.
