The invention relates to a rubber blend for conveyor belts, in particular for the top layer of paper-transport belts in blueprinting machines. The top layer is built up on the basis of natural and/or synthetic rubbers and contains reinforcing fillers and conventional vulcanising agents and antiageing agents. In order to increase the service life of a belt, it is proposed that micronised, polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE)-modified polyethylene is added to the rubber blend.
