The invention relates to an apparatus for preventing the flow of superheated steam through a duct which supplies the drying cylinder of a papermaking machine and has a shutoff element. According to the invention, it is provided that a sensor is connected in the duct and is temperature-dependent in its dimensions, and is designed and arranged such that it actuates the shutoff element.
