To reduce the wear as well as to comply with the safety regulations in the case of a copy-milling, copy-grinding or copy-drilling machine with a reciprocating table as well as a fixed slide rest along which one or more tools can be traversed and can be moved up and down at right angles to the work table, the table is divided in the feed direction into two parts, these two parts being connected at least to a single drive. In this arrangement, the two parts can be connected to drives which are independent of one another.
