The invention is related to a method for measuring the concentration of radioactive gases and enables the concentration of several radionuclides to be simultaneously determined. In this method, a gas containing several beta radionuclides is introduced into an independent chamber where its concentration is simultaneously and selectively determined by means of plastic scintillators. From the energy of the emitted beta radiation, individual radionuclides are identified and selectively and quantitatively determined by means of amplitude discrimination of the registered pulses. This method is carried out either continuously or discontinuously. The multi-layer scintillation chamber consists of a light-tight housing in which the plates of the plastic scintillators which have suitable dimensions and arrangements and are connected to photomultipliers by means of optical waveguides on both sides are located.
