The invention relates to a positive displacement machine for compressible and incompressible media having at least one displacing chamber arranged in a fixed housing and having a displacing body assigned to each displacing chamber and held on an eccentrically drivable disc-shaped rotor, the rotor being guided in such a way relative to the housing that, during operation, each point of the displacing body executes a motion lying essentially on a circular path, and the curvature of the displacing body in relation to that of the displacing chamber being dimensioned such that the displacing body almost touches the inner and outer circumferential walls of the displacing chamber at in each case at least one sealing line continuously advancing during operation. Furthermore, each of the two crescent-shaped working spaces (38, 39) formed between a displacing body (9) and the circumferential walls of the displacing chamber (5) is to be assigned an inlet opening (34) and an outlet opening (35) which are separated by a separating sliding vein (25, 42) vane essentially radially in the housing (3) and resting against the displacing body.
