Failsafe control for servo-operated head lamps - has spring loaded differential valve to dip lamps if either servo circuit fails

The servo operated headlamp tilt control has sensors (5, 7) on the two axles to monitor the suspension depression and operate servo motors (11) to set the headlamp inclination. A failsafe valve (24) is set between the two circuits from the axles to hold the valve in a safe setting. If one of the circuits fails, then the spring loaded valve sets the servos to the dipped position. The system operates to dip the lamps whichever circuit fails, so that the drivers of oncoming vehicles are not dazzled.
