Drilling head for inaccessible work area - has chain driven spindle in arm cantilevered to normal drilling machine

The machine consists of a base plate (4) which can be mounted on the table of a drilling machine. Two vertical columns (5) are mounted on the base plate, which support a cantilever beam. The beam can be moved up and down on the columns. The cantilever beam is in the form of a hollow housing. A main spindle (8) which can be connected to the drilling machine spindle, is mounted in one end of the housing. A tool spindle (6) is mounted at the other end of the housing, this spindle is driven from the main spindle by chain wheels and a chain which is mounted inside the housing. The end of the beam can be placed in a narrow space where e.g a hole is to be drilled.
