Liq. feed supplement for cattle contg. acid-treated fat - to prevent excessive consumption of the supplement

Feed supplement for cattle comprises a liq., carbohydrate-contg. base material, usual supplemental additives and an acidified fat (A) made by treatment with acid at 104 degrees, esp. 127 degrees C. The acid is esp. HCl and (A) is 1.5, pref. 2-8 wt.% of the compsn. The base is pref. molasses and additives include 0.1-5 wt.% each of (NH4)2SO4 and (NH4)2HPO4. The compsn. can also contain 0.5-5 wt.% of a colloidal material and 0.1-20 wt.%, based on the colloid, of a dispersant. (A) makes the additives less appealing to cattle so it may be given to them ad libitum without the need for special metering equipment and without the risk that they will consume too much.
