Totally enclosed electric machine - has cooling pipes mounted on stator inside outer casing, and supporting rings in turn hold end shields

The electrical machine has pipe cooling. Its stator (1) is enclosed with clearance in a casing (5) tightly connected to rings supported by the stator, and in turn supporting the shields (4). Cooling pipes (2) are connected to holes arranged symmetrically in the rings, and sealed to them, so that the closed inner space is produced in which a part of the inner cooling air flows around the pipes through which flows the outer air. The support rings are carried exclusively by the cooling pipes which are in a close thermal contact with the stator. There is a fan to circulate cooling air.
