Eye shield pivot for crash helmet - consists of small disc on each side of eye shield, with return springs, and forked projections

The pivot for the eye shield (3) of a sports crash helmet consists of two small discs (4) at each side of the eye shield. The discs are pivot mounted on opposite sides of the main part of the crash helmet. The discs have return springs (7) which hold the eye shield (3) in a raised position. Locking pieces are operated by a control which is situated in the middle on the front edge of the crash helmet. The side ends of the eye shield (3) have forked projections which fit into mountings on the discs (4).
