The end protector for an angler's rod is especially designed for a telescopic rod with a line guide ring projecting upwards from the end of each telescopic section. The protector is a sleeve (11), closed one end and with a slot (13) extended along the top from the other end, so that when attached, the guide rings and their arms can project through the sleeve. The closed end can carry a hook (12) and the open end carries a strap (14) with a set of holes (17) through it so that a selected hole can be fitted over a lug projecting from the other side to fasten it. This open end is tepped, with an internal shoulder (16) to locate against a ring round the shaft of the fishing rod.
