Assembly of car registration plates - uses separate moulded characters clipped into plate by single cutting and pressing tool

The system of making car registration plates, allow separate characters to be positioned on a plate mechanically. This is done in one operation, involving hole cutting, discarding the centre and pressing the character in the hole and clipping it to the plate. The characters are moulded and have a claw and a groove on the side face. The cutting tools match the characters, and form an opening which has a flared part.
