Powder paint or coating contains a cpd. (I) with =2 epoxy gps., a cpd. (II) with =2 carboxy gps. and an ammonium salt (III) of formula R1(COOH)n-m(COO-)m N+R2R3R4R5 m (where m and n are 1-100000 with the proviso that m = n, R1 is a gp. from a mono- or poly-basic carboxylic acid and R2, R3, R4 and R5 are 1-30C alkyl opt. substd. by halogen, nitro, 1-4C alkoxy or furyl or opt. halogen, nitro, 1-4C alkyl, 1-4C alkoxy or furyl substd. 6-10C cycloalkylalkyl, 5-9C cycloalkyl, 6-20C aryl or 7-30C aralkyl or =2 of R2-5 form an (un)satd. heterocyclic ring with the N atom). Compsn. hardens at low temps., forms films with excellent smoothness and does not turn brown when stored.
