Low draught hull for marine planing craft - has transverse slot aspiring air to deliver layer below hull stern

The planning hull is made from moulded plastics and has a greater draught in the bow (3). The hull has a transverse slot (7) dividing the hull into two parts. The slot is in the lower part of the hull. The slot is joined to a channel (11) which extends above the water line (9). When the hull is travelling at a predetermined speed through the water, air is aspired through the channel and ejected at the slot lip (17) to form a layer of air below the hull and toward the stern.
