Round hollow section self-boring pile - uses spiral ramped cutters on leading edge and used as fence post or cable-anchor

The round-hollow section metal self-boring pile (1) is used to form the buried element of a fence-post or a cable anchor etc. It may be in one piece with the post or anchorage and may be installed by driving into virgin ground or a pre-board hole. The pile itself may have a spiral ramped and stepped leading edge (1A) locating external radial cutting blades (2), thus, pulling itself into the ground when rotated. Blades (2) may subtend an angle of 60 to 80 degrees with the pile axis (A), their radial leading edges (2A) increasing in width and curving down through some 5 degrees. Extension pieces or posts may be connected by bayonet couplings.
