The plug cock consists of a rotating element (10) in a valve body (11). The valve is operated by rotating the element (10) a quarter of a turn, limited by the guides. The spherical plug has two flat surfaces (12a,12b) machined on diametrically opposite faces. The valve seats are housed in the valve body and sealed with '0' rings (25a,25b). The valve seals are '0' rings (24a,24b) which are in contact with the spherical surface of the plug, the contact is maintained by the spring washers (19a,19b). In the open position it is a simple operation to remove the rotating element after having removed the retaining plate (13).
