The toothed wheel is for incorporation in chain drives or chain-tensioners in the agricultural field, having a high strength stamped synthetic plastics construction, and comprising a ball-bearing train mounted in a toothed plastics body. The bearing may be mounted in the matrix as the first operation in the stamping process, the outer bearing ring thus being housed by the plastic element. Alternatively the bearing may be mounted in a socket provided in the stamped wheel while yet hot, the temp drop being used to shrink the plastic element onto the bearing. As a further alternative bearing may be cast into a socket and wheel may be of nylon.
