Horizontal axis wind turbine with curvilinear blades - uses curvilinear blades curving out from hub then inwards, causing wind to be directed outwards then back towards centre to be exhausted
The wind turbine has curvilinear blades (12) mounted on a horizontal axis which is oriented towards the wind to convert kinetic energy of the wind to electric or mechanical energy. A conical fairing (1) covers the hub assembly to improve air flow. The blades, at least three in number, are formed in a multiple curve supported at the hub and curving back from the hub as they move out to the outer diameter, then curving back in towards the centre as they move further to the rear. The wind is guided in an outward path then back towards the centre line to be exhausted (7). The wind gives up kinetic energy through both outward and inward traverses. The mechanical linkages or electric generator are provided at the front part of the conical section.
