The drop-keel is for a sailing vessel, particularly a sailboard, hinging in a keel recess in a float. Its front face in the travel direction is concave, and it (3) can typically be crescent-shaped, or bent over at the end. The design reduces the tendency to capsize, while keeping drag to the minimum. The pivot axis is movably mounted in the centre of the board, with guide faces formed by the sidewalls of the board body.
