The motor uses the forces between permanent magnets to produce motion of sets of small permanents magnets which are mechanically linked to a shaft, causing the shaft rotates. The linkages are mounted on a ring which is able to slide along the shaft, reducing the magnetic forces and hence the output power of the motor. The six linkages are equally spaced around the ring and carry rectangular permanent magnets at their ends. The six magnets face a large permanent magnet of rectangular shape when viewed along the shaft. The faces of the large magnet is concave to allow minimum air gaps as the six magnets swing past on their linkage. The six magnets follow a rectangular path across the face of the permanent magnet, imparting a rotary motion to the shaft.
