The coaxial heat exchanger can be used either as an evaporator or condenser. It has a tubular envelope (4) inside which is a pipe with two separate circulation circuits (5,5a), of two fluids in thermal contact. The inner pipe has undulations milled or pressed helicoidally on its surface. This also deforms the wall inside to cause fluid turbulence to assist heat exchange. The two circuits are fed at connecting points at the end of the assembly. One connection has a deflector (10) before the tube end.
