The display and storage compartment for lightweight, parallelepiped shaped articles, such as cigarette packets, consists of a sloping shelf (1) with a bottom edge strip (3) forming a stop. A cylindrical weight (2) pushes the articles forward, and has a width, dia. and density adapted to the packet being displayed. Partitions (4) are retained by a rack (5) and guide the cylindrical weight.
