Vehicle parking aid for gap along pavement - has gap length measured by motion vehicle and compares result with reference to initiate automatic parking manoeuvres

The device is used to facilitate the parking of a car (V) in reverse gear, in a gap (C) between two cars (W1,W2) along the pavement (T). The driver measures the gap (C) by moving his car (V) along it. This gap (C) is compared with a predetermined reference length and the driver informed whether or not he can park in the gap (C). The driver is also informed when his car (V) is in the correct position (V3), with respect to the front car (W1), from which he can start going backwards and steering in order to park his car (V). The device can be associated with an appts. which automatically controls the steering wheel, to park the car, when the driver sets the vehicle into reverse gear.
