The ic-engine has a combustion chamber volume greater on the power stroke than on the inlet stroke. This is accomplished using two pistons reciprocating in the same cylinder. The pistons are connected to two output crankshafts, the speed of one being larger than that of the other. The two crankshafts can be connected by a chain, gearing or shaft. The crankshafts can be rotated in the same or opposite senses. The engine provides a much larger volume on the power stroke to increase energy extraction.
