At a number of loading bays the cranes move between loading points such as the silos and lorries. The lorries then move to and from a reception centre where a data acquisition and processing system is located. This is connected to installations at the loading bays and the lorries carry identification marks which are read onto a data support passed to the loading supervisor and carried by the driver to the processing centre. Each data recording installation at the loading bays comprises a microprocessor connected to a terminal containing a VDU and keyboard and also function keys. These enable the time and date and identification to be recorded and also permit control of the reading and coding of badges. A printer provides a record of the data.
